Why Knoji?

I wrote the Mathematics course at Knoji because I want to make Mathematics an easy subject to learn. As a Knoji tutor I focus on fostering confidence, motivation and self-improvement.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Prepare for weeks, not days.

Why Knoji?

As a Knoji tutor I prioritise understanding and connecting the theory over simply answering the questions. Having the ability to connect ideas is what gives our students a leg up at school!

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Regularly time yourself doing individual questions instead of just doing a million 3hr papers! Being able to complete a maths question in 2-3 minutes just in your homework will progressively improve your time management in exams. Start small, work up to the 3hrs

What's your superpower?

Making it sound like I know what I am talking about even if I don’t have 100% confidence

Why Knoji?

Knoji drew me in because of the close, supportive network of tutors who all share this common goal of helping high school students reach their goals. Every tutor acts as a mentor for students, making it so incredibly unique. The small classes of up to 8 mean that, as a tutor, I get to know everyone’s aspirations, prioritise making my classroom comfortable for everyone to ask questions and give high school advice like a big sister 😉

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Past papers, past papers, past papers. Thank goodness I realised this in Year 12 but my younger self definitely needed this advice. Making less study notes and ensuring I can actually apply content to real exam-style Qs is so important.

What's your superpower?

Staying 100% calm in stressful situations (my Year 6 teacher said if there was a fire in the class, I’d just say ‘oh theres a fire’ and walk out quietly).

Why Knoji?

I teach at Knoji because of the lovely work environment, the space is so positive and encouraging for staff and students. I really appreciate how the company tailors everything for the students' futures (not just what they're studying at school right now) and how individual attention and growth is still so prioritised within small group classes.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Content and notes and memorising is all good but what matters is the application of those tools - so practice papers and exams are your best friend. Do as many questions as you can so you know how to apply the knowledge, understand the type of questions that can be asked and get comfortable with adapting what you've memorised.

What's your superpower?

Making my day to day experiences a story to tell later.

🎓 Graduated from James Ruse Agricultural High School in 2013 and earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2019. After medical school, Anqi chose to work on the tutoring service she started in her parent's living room instead, which would eventually become Knoji.

🌟 With 9 years of tutoring experience, Anqi has transitioned from her medical career to focus on English literature and high school literary education. She has a degree in English Literature from the University of Sydney

Anqi is energised by creativity and innovation, which has lead her into a life filled with change and experiences in medicine, teaching and entrepreneurship. She is the perfect mentor for anyone who wants to discuss changing degrees and careers, able to offer guidance on embracing change to advance personal growth.

I teach at Knoji because I have a genuine passion for helping students truly understand maths concepts and enjoy the learning process. As a Knoji tutor, I prioritise that every student leaves the classroom with a genuine understanding of the material. Knoji is a community where students should feel encouraged to ask questions, share knowledge, and grow together in a supportive environment.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Don't wait for motivation (you will not always feel motivated to study) -- create structure and discipline. Set small, achievable goals to keep your momentum going and build your confidence. Progress, not perfection, is what matters most and this is built through persistence. Keep showing up and studying, even when it is hard!

What's your superpower?

My secret superpower is the ability to build genuine connections, and make others feel seen and truly heard.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Break things down and do a little each day — it makes studying less overwhelming and helps things stick. Getting 1 percent better every day counts for a lot in the long run.

What's your superpower?

In the immortal words of Jose Mourinho, "I'm not feeling the pressure, no. You cannot put pressure on me. No chance. No chance."

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Focus on truly understanding concepts rather than just memorising formulas. Deep understanding makes it easier to adapt to harder problems later on. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions — they show you're thinking, not that you're struggling. Learning how to learn is just as important as the content itself.
