Why Knoji?

What makes Knoji unique is how advanced concepts are broken down into smaller chunks, making accelerated learning so much more approachable and accessible. As a Knoji tutor, I prioritise making English a less daunting subject, eventually fostering a deep appreciation for literature.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

READ LOTS!!! Reading a wide range of genres and text types, especially ones you don't typically reach for, can help so much with creativity, vocabulary, and understanding different perspectives.

What's your superpower?

I can do an immaculate Woolies self checkout voice (and other voices too!!)

Why Knoji?

I teach at Knoji because I value helping others improve, and Knoji provides the best opportunity to do so. Its environment allows me to support students in their growth while also helping them enjoy the process of learning.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

If I could give one study tip to my younger self, it would be to maintain a balance between studying and other aspects of life. Rest and extracurricular goals are important for sustaining focus over time. However, balance should never come at the expense of effort. Even with balance, it is essential to always try your hardest.

What's your superpower?

My secret superpower is my persistence and commitment to always putting in my best effort, no matter the circumstances.

Why Knoji?

As a Knoji tutor, I prioritise breaking problems down rather than rushing to the answer. My goal is to build understanding, not just create a habit of looking for quick solutions. Knoji is a community where students should feel comfortable asking any question, because asking questions is where real learning begins.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Don’t spend too much time rewriting notes and rather practice more on applying the knowledge from them. This can be more step by step as well, by first doing problems open book, and then building confidence, closed book.

What's your superpower?

Always being able to tell if someone is telling the truth.

Why Knoji?

I chose Knoji because of how much fun the small class sizes are - I get to know all my students personally and that goes a long way in creating an enjoyable learning environment.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Force yourself to study "just for 5 minutes," because 9 times out of 10 you'll end up studying much longer. 

What's your superpower?

Teleport the remote to my hand when I'm lying on the sofa and can't be bothered to get up.

Knoji gives me the opportunity to teach maths in a supportive, personalised environment where I can help students build confidence and truly understand key concepts. It’s incredibly rewarding to see their progress and know I’m making a meaningful impact on their academic journey.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Building your own unique study schedule and understanding your strengths and weaknesses is the most important thing about studying. Rather than copying others, building an individual plan is a lot more effective.

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Understand why. A connected mechanism behind something sticks better than a single fact in space. Tie 8 pieces of string together and try breaking the knot. Same principle.

What's your superpower?

Having distinct mental zones for each part of my life, so im deeply focussed on whatever it is I'm doing without interference from other zones.

Why Knoji?

As a Knoji Tutor I prioritise quality over quantity. It’s is more important to properly understand something in depth first and then the practice applying your knowledge. If the quality of your work is not efficient then the quantity or amount of times you produce it is ultimately pointless. 

If you could give one study tip to your younger self, what would it be and why?

Drop the pretty highlights are unnecessary rereading of notes and start practising active recall and practice papers more.
